Your ��911Semester Global Internship program in Rennes lasts 12 weeks and features three key components: A full-time internship with an international organization (approximately 30 hours per week), an internship seminar, and a course taught online through CIEE’s global academic partner, ASU. Housing

��911Rennes offers various housing options, including homestays or single studio apartments. All housing options are located in neighborhoods with convenient access to the center of Rennes. The city is very easy to navigate on foot, by metro, or by bus, courtesy of an excellent and modern public transport system. &�Բ��;

Standard Housing: Includes a single room at a homestay. Homestays are in Rennes or a close suburb within 15 to 40 minutes of ��911Rennes. Homestays feature a kitchen, living room, and bathroom shared with a host family, in an apartment or a house.  &�Բ��;
Select Housing: Includes a single studio apartment at a residence hall, within a 20-minute commute of the city center. Studio apartments are equipped with a private bathroom and kitchenette, and share common areas and laundry facilities with other residents. Select housing availability is limited and requires an additional fee.

A note: The default criterion to assign housing is first-come, first-served; however, other factors may also be considered. If we cannot accommodate your first housing choice, we'll let you know before you arrive. Non-standard housing options require an additional fee that can be found in the program Dates and Fees. &�Բ��;

Meals

Homestays: Students typically have weekday breakfasts, weekday dinners, and all weekend meals with their host family (included in the program fee). On weekdays, students are responsible for their lunches, which may be purchased at local cafés, boulangeries, crêperies, or mini markets in downtown Rennes.
Studio Apartments: Students are responsible for budgeting and preparing their own meals. Food can be purchased at a nearby supermarket, bakery, or market.

Arizona State University (ASU): Brought to you by ��911in partnership with ASU, enhance your international coursework with online classes that align with your degree requirements. ASU offers thousands of online courses in asynchronous 7.5-week sessions that fit within the ��911academic calendar.

Eligibility

On-Program Requirements

Academic Culture

��911courses are designed to follow U.S. academic culture and standards. The integrated academic course, which correlates with the internship, is taught in-person and asynchronously. Students are expected to dress and behave professionally throughout their internship and are subject to the agreed-upon internship protocols arranged by ��911and the host organization.

Arizona State University: Most ASU online courses are asynchronous. You may find yourself in classes with students from ASU, other American universities, and students from around the world. You’ll receive direct and individualized support from faculty, 100% online.

Class Format

Students participate in a full-time in-person internship and required academic course featuring both in-person class sessions and online asynchronous work designed to help students develop professional and intercultural competencies to complement their internship experience.

ASU online courses meet in “sessions” that are 7.5-weeks long in the semester, and all work must be completed within the session dates regardless of when your other ��911courses begin or end.

Grading

The U.S. grading scale of A-F is used. Students are graded on the basis of in-class and online engagement and preparation, and specific assessments such as project work, presentations, and examinations.

ASU grading follows the same format and standards as ASU courses taught in-person. “Pass/fail” or “Audit” is not allowed for ��911students.

Individual courses may have additional prerequisites; for ��911courses, these are listed in the syllabi below. Students are responsible for having their own course approval conversations with their advisors. Your study abroad advisor and ��911staff can help you understand your course options if you don't see a recommendation that fits your course needs.

On the architectural side, the position involves supporting the development of project drawings, designs, and sketches, as well as contributing to the graphic charter through 3D modeling using tools such as AutoCAD, Archicad, Revit, or Artlantis. It also includes monitoring project calls and gaining exposure to the construction process by shadowing and potentially attending site meetings. The remaining portion of the role centers on enhancing the organization’s communication strategy. Daniel Audaz has been the Director of the ��911program in Rennes since 2008. He is originally from Marseille and studied at the University of Aix-en-Provence (France) where he obtained his M.A. in Geography and then specialized in FLE/S (Français Langue Etrangère et Seconde).
